Local Compassion: Lititz/Warwick Community Chest

cartGrace has been working with the Lititz/Warwick Community Chest for many years, and a portion of this year’s Birthday Gift for Jesus will go to support their local compassion efforts. This local food bank helps those in need in the Warwick School District. In addition to providing non-perishable food items, the Community Chest also provides people with fresh products, which are often delivered right to peoples’ doors by volunteers. The Community Chest is also involved in coordinating the Christmas meal outreach that Grace Church has participated in for the past several

Every week, folks from Grace Church put non-perishable food items and personal products in the grocery cart in our lobby, which are delivered to the Community Chest. We’ve also held several food-drives to help stock the shelves. And, there are several people at Grace Church who volunteer each month.

The following is written by Sue Buch, a Grace Church member, who volunteers at LWCC:

I have the pleasure of seeing firsthand the gratefulness of our neighbors in need, as I make food deliveries for the Lititz/Warwick Community Chest. These individuals are very appreciative for the donation of food and generosity of the community.

Since working with the LWCC, God has impressed upon me His goodness to those of us who can buy groceries every week, to also remember those who cannot, and to share His blessings by purchasing food for the LWCC. The grocery cart of food in our church lobby helps meet the physical needs in our community, and may be the first touch of Jesus in their life.

Money will be collected for the “Birthday Gift for Jesus” throughout the month of December.  Please make sure cash gifts or checks to “Grace Church” are marked for this project, or if you prefer click here to give online.
