The Globe Carolers

Here’s another story of a group of people living on mission:

photo 3On Saturday, December 21st, a group of boys and girls varsity basketball players from Lititz Christian School visited several assisted living facilities to bless the residents with some Christmas carols. The group stopped to sing at Lancashire Homes, Brethren Village and Audubon Villa in Lititz, PA. It was a great experience for all involved. Many of the residents were singing along as the group sang classic Christmas songs and shared the true meaning of Jesus birth with “Away in the Manger” and “O Holy Night”. There was some laughter to be had at the end of each sing along with a jolly version of “Jingle Bell Rock” led by boy’s coaches Ross and Robbie. Many thanks to boy’s assistant coach Phil Weaver for organizing the event and providing transportation. The morning ended with a pizza lunch shared by the group.

Basketball players singing…now that is something you don’t hear every day! But these students are being taught by their coaches at Lititz Christian that life exists beyond sports. Character is being formed in these young people as they are coached on and off the court, and they are making an impact – in the name of Jesus – in our community!

Are you living on mission? How are you making a difference in our community for Jesus? How are you leading your family to be on mission and make a difference? James 2 reminds us that “faith without works, is dead”! Let’s get active…and let’s have some fun in the process!

Come to Grace Church, this Sunday, as we continue to “unwrap gifts” and photo 1learn the significance of this type of active life as part of our salvation! Services are at 9 and 10:45.
